Documents on the official checklist

The City’s residential exterior windows and doors checklist asks for:

  • Completed building permit application
  • Cover sheet with scope and disclosure statement
  • Exterior elevations of walls with replaced openings
  • Floor plan identifying windows and doors being replaced
  • Current Miami-Dade NOA or Florida Product Approval
  • Window/door schedule with location, size, model and NOA
  • Positive and negative design pressures
  • Glass type/thickness and mullion details where applicable
  • Emergency escape/rescue and sill-height checks where applicable

Common gaps

Expired or mismatched NOAs, schedules that don’t match the floor plan, and missing design pressures are the most frequent reasons for corrections.
